Elsa Fornero

Elsa Fornero has served as the Italian Minister of Welfare under Prime Minister Mario Monti since November 2011.[1]

Biography

Prior to becoming Minister, she was an Economics Professor at the University of Turin.[2]

In December 2011, shortly after being appointed, she cried publicly while she was presenting new austerity measures.[3][4]
